The additive has been successfully tested in Europe and determined that it will render plastic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles biodegradable.

Diamant prepares for the introduction of the additive in North America to contribute to solve the plastic water bottle pollution problem. This revolutionary bottling additive is a proprietary material that will beblended into polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the plastic used in water bottle manufacturing. PET has the capability of giving an exceptional glass-like clarity and gloss and will now be able to become bio-degradable. PET bio-degradable bottles and containers can now be used to package a range of shelf-stable products, including salsas, pasta and barbecue sauces, tomato ketchups, similar steak and table hot sauces, jams, jellies, juices, and bottled beverages such as sodas and water.
